Music - Melody & Madan Mohan

Madan Mohan
(25 June 1924 – 14 July 1975)

Well friends we all enjoy old Hindi Film Music. "Ghazal", The very mention would remind us of our famous Music Composer "Late Shri Madan Mohan" who made Ghazal popular in film music.

The Indian melody comes alive in his compositions, so much so that his songs are remembered even today and I can say without an iota of doubt that his compositions will last the time. We can sing along any of his songs and the lyrics would come gushing as we are listening to the tune. Born in Iraq this Musical Genius has left behind a Cache of Classical songs for the music lovers world over to enjoy before he passed away in India.

Madan Ji used to strongly believe that the life of songs which are in sad mood are remembered more than songs made in happy mood. The song "Kar Chale Hum Fida Jano Tan Sathiyon-Hum Ab Tumhare Havale Watan Sathiyon",  is a living testimony to it because in the movie "Haqeeqat", the heroine and the hero both get martyred in the end and than this song is played before the people leave the Theatre. It is believed that no one stands up to leave before this song completely ends.

I am just linking a few songs for you below. Hope you enjoy listening to them.

Goan/Konkani Music - Just A Click Away

Dear Music Lovers,

As Indians most of us have grown up mostly listening to the eternal voices of legends like Kishore, Mukesh, Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Mannadey, Hemanth Kumar, MS Subbulakshmi, Pandit Jasraj, Bhimsen Joshi etc.,

But I am sure most of us would have never listened much to music from other parts of India singing in their local language, say Assamese, Oriya, Bengali, Manipuri etc., understandably so, as we do not know the language.

There are very good songs in these languages too. Hence, I thought that I shall post one language based songs, at least a couple of them every week.

Today, I am posting the Goan or Should I say Konkani Songs for one and all to enjoy..... Happy Listening...

Very good lullaby...
